Just got back from the monthly LCEB book club
meeting where we reviewed "First break all the rules, -
What the World's Greatest Managers do Differently".
One of the key points in the book is that a Manager's
sole purpose is to convert talent into performance.
Would
you agree with this? Is a Manager's role as narrowly
focused as this? Should part of a Manager's role be
to facilitate the improvement of their team members
weaknesses or should the Manager just focus on
developing the
strengths and natural talents within the team?
What do you think?

I regularly facilitate "Presentation skills" training
courses to the Management and staff of many
Corporate, local and multinational clients through my
association with MaST Ireland. Many of the delegates
on these courses get tremendous value from the tips
that are shared as part of these programs. I thought
therefore that you might be interested to learn about
some of these tips.
I am glad to report that I have had a good share of
positive feedback on the FREE monthly email
newsletter I publish. Many people have asked me how
I manage to produce a professional looking and
interesting newsletter every month. This article reveals
some of my "secrets". The article will give you an
insight in the process of producing an email
newsletter and you might even find the points I make
useful to you should you decide to create a newsletter
for yourself.
The secret of success is learning how to use pain
and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure
use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If
you don't, life controls you."
