If you find it difficult to say NO
consider the following - When you say YES to
something, you are saying NO to something else.
Remember the last time you took on something and
regretted doing so afterwards, by taking this task on,
what did you loose, who was affected in a negative
way, what would you do differently with the benefit
of hindsight? Food for taught!
How did your New Year resolutions go? If they are
gone by the wayside, do not waste your energy
beating yourself up but instead, take the opportunity
to learn something about yourself. If your resolution
was to go to the gym more often, maybe the gym is
not the best form of exercise for you, try something
else, perhaps you decided to quit smoking, maybe the
reasons you decided to quit were not compelling and
exciting enough for you, get better, more compelling
and exciting reasons before you try again. The key
thing is though to learn something from your
experience. If you learn you grow, if you grow you
are alive.
Until next month, take care,
Fergal.
My job in 2011 is....
Many of the clients I work with focus on careers and
jobs; setting goals, looking at options and executing
plans to pursue a career that they are passionate
about. One thing I have come to realize recently is
that in order for this process to be most effective
some consideration needs to be given to external
factors that will have a mayor impact on the
employment sector in Ireland over the next 5 years....
When do you ever take the time to stop, listen to
and become more aware of the language that you
use? If you are like most of us, chances are, not very
often. I am raising this question now after a
conversation I had with my 3-year-old
daughter recently. She is at an incredible
growth stage of her life where her brain is like a
sponge taking in
vast amounts of learning and knowledge. I was
bringing her to bed on Saturday night with my arms
full with 3 teddy bears, a pair of slippers and a
dressing gown and she turns to me and
asks to be carried upstairs. With my hands full, my
immediate response was - I cant, to which she
replied Daddy, cant is not a nice word.

Written in a fable style, this book tells the story of
Dar Sanderson, a highly successful and ambitious
executive who despite all his apparent achievements
and great
lifestyle is deeply unhappy. This book has some great
practical gems of wisdom that will help you live your
life to it's greatest potential. Thoroughly enjoyable
and readable

youve got one of two

about why you havent
got it. Drop the story."
